• mourning

  January has been a mourning month for me as well. Just lost my favorite old gelding, results of age and EPM. My first mare was put down the end of January after a kick broke her leg. I do feel the time was right, however, for my old boy, so he would not have to face the rest of a cold winter with rough frozen ground when he had so much trouble walking. I also had a special friend, who helped me train that first mare, and who died 4 years ago. I have been inspired by your writing. Thank you.
